#13011, "Got a crack in my manifold"

I was looking at my manifold the other day and I noticed a small crack in it. It is on top where a weld is right where all the tubes come together. I guess the old weld is giving out. It is a very small leak though becuase I can barely feel the air coming through it. I guess I am going to have it welded tomorrow. The manifold is made of steel on the HRC kit right?

joe (shogun) cracked his star manifold. i think in the same spot actually. Wyatt just shipped him another one. Call HRC and ask for a replacement , bro. Good luck.

JB weld wont work because the temps on the manifold get up around 1600 degrees.

As far as getting another from HRC...I am not sure I can because I bought the kit used. It really isnt a big deal though. Its a small crack that should be able to get welded over very easily. After work tomorow I am going to the weld shop and having the guy do it for me. Should be like $10. My lazy ass doesnt feel like taking it all apart and putting on a new manifold anyway.

I thought the hrc manifold was castiron. I don't think you can weld that.

cant weld it? say huh? my hrc manifold is one big weld now, lol j/k but almost true... I have had crack after crack after crack with my manifold... i never have complained to bill, because it would almost be more of a pain in the ass to take the manifold off for the 20th time and ship it off to be replaced, and that ceramic coating wasnt cheap so i'd have to pay to have the new one done, but i agree that i have heard several people say that hrc manifolds crack easy... but i hear a lot of people with headers have probs as well...

btw, jb weld will work great... if you decide you dont want to start the engine again.. cause as soon as it warms up, bye bye jb weld.
