Okay, one more question.
does anyone know if we can use 16 ohm injectors in our cars. i know the ones in our cars are 12 ohm, but i need to know if we can use 16 ohm ones.

There's only two mkinds of injectors, saturated and peak and hold. In theory, any direct fit injector can be controlled (to a point, anyway) by our stock system. As long as it's not a peak and hold, it should work.

thanks dino, i found some cheap injectors and i called a local fuel injection place that could tell me if they were low or high impedance, and they told me that that particular part number was a 16 ohm unit.

Is it possible to use peak and hold(low impedance 2~3ohm) injectors in our car with a resistor box? We can only use saturated(high impedance) injectors with our ECU. Use the resistor box to trick the EUC that we have saturated(high impedance 14~16ohm) injectors. Alot honda guys use this method and work fine. I was wondering if anyone tried in on ur cars.

Fuel injector facts

High Impedance (saturated) vs. Low Impedance (Peak and Hold)

Most Mustang owners have saturated injectors and don¡¦t have to worry about the difference. The concern about impedance only comes as performance demands much higher flow injectors.

Saturated injectors have a typical input resistance (using an ohmmeter) of 13 to 18 ohms. The injector driver is simply a switch that turns on and off battery voltage, and is .7 to 1.1 amp throughout the pulse.

This arrangement takes about 2 to 3-milli sec. to turn on and off and leads to somewhat less accurate timing of the injection. Because of the strength of the magnetic field, the injector is more sensitive to fuel pressure.

Peak and Hold injectors are typically 2.5 to 4 ohms input resistance, and have to use a special electrical driver that provides full battery voltage (14 V) for 1 to 2 sec. then for the remainder of the pulse, the driver reduces the voltage to .6 to 1.5 volts to hold the injector open. This greatly reduces the power needed to run the injector as well as makes the turn off timing more accurate.

NOTE: Peak and hold injectors will burn out if run for any substantial time on a saturated system.
