Who makes the best intercooler with the least pressure drop for both the HRC and star kits. I know peeps will say that hrc intercooler that comes with the kit is the best but I think there are better ones out there. Has anyone experiemented with this or know anymore info. TIA

The starion has thin endtanks that can't take high pressure levels. If you really want to.. you can have any IC you want, any style, any endtank fabricated. RRE, Spearco, Griffin, they'll all do it. it's not really cheap, but if you're going for power.. go that route, skip the Starion.

Dont the starions run about 16psi stock. For your first FMIC a starion would be fine unless you have lots of $$$ to spend. I have a freind that runs 23 psi on his starion FMIC in his GS-T. I dont think you will be going over that any time soon.

From first hand experience, the HRC intercooler is the best I've seen. That is comparing it to the Big GReddy, Starion, Spearco cores and end tanks...pretty much everything on the market.

what about with the star kit, I know there is a pressure drop of 1 or 2 psi across it. What would be the best type of intercooler to put in this setup. has anyone tried to use the hrc intercooler with the star set-up. TIA

From what I have personally seen, the new HRC is as good as any other intercooler available. The other to consider is the new greddy large. I am happy with my ApexI as it is though.

For starters the pressure drop isn't really a big deal accross the star FMIC. Just turn the boost up to compensate. The Star T3 is capable of making way more boost than your internals can take anyway. If you need to upgrade someday (when you find yourself runnin 20 psi) then maybe you would need to look into something better.

My starion fmic gives me 1 psi of pressure drop, it's modified with 2.5" inlet and out let also, just in case you wanted to know.
The star intercooler is pretty nice when I saw it for the first time I was impressed. It doesn't have as many rows as the starion I think but the flow tubes are much bigger and it's longer than the starion.
But like I hear everyone saying HRC is the best haha the new FMIC look monstrous but that's a lotta money. If you don't wanna blow a lotta money on a fmic get starion or maybe even a supra intercooler.
