#12605, "Uh oh only 4 PSI of boost!"

Haha just for fun I hooked up my boost gauge the proper way, to the intake manifold vacuum. It still pisses me off how the vacuum moves more than the boost does. Why'd I have to get this particular crummy SPI boost gauge that reads for freakin 30 when I know I'll never get that high.

Anyway I've always wondered what pressure loss was because I never saw it b4. Then I switched the boost gauge from the signal hose to the manifold one, hehe got 4 PSI, so I'm guessin that's like 1 psi pressure loss. Some times I see it do more than 5 psi before I changed it to like 8 so I guess I got a little safe zone.

So should I get a boost controller and crank it to uh oh 5 psi again? Either way I should probably go and get one.

watch out for which boost controller you get, the manual one i just got is made for turbo dsms, it says it is able to go under 10 psi. So i tried to turn it down but it won't or can't go under 7 psi. I was gonna go to 5 for the winter but oh well 7 psi should be fine on engine.

Why dont you have your boost gauge plumbed into the intake manifold all the time, how else can you know what the engine is taking in? Your starion is probably good for at least a 1psi drop. I'd get a manual and bring it back up.

haha yeah think I'll keep it on the intake manifold. The engine seems to run happier with it there for some reason O_o The car still hauls ass at 4 psi, intercooler sure does work wonders hehe. ^_^

I am seriously thinking of getting a MBC now but er.... need money first hehe emoji Can the Joe P MBC do 5 psi? That's the one I'm planning on getting.

beats me but when the weather is fairly cool with the intercooler you can feel that power, it also bumps up the intake charge by like 1 psi if you pulling really hard.

Our engine respond really well to boost also. Like a little boost goes a long way, probably because we have racing turbo but still emoji
