I finally got my gauges installed, thanks to a delay on the lotek gauge pod. I got a manual boost controller too. I was touching 7 psi but it bled off to 5 psi. I got the boost controller set to 7 psi to be safe for now. I'm gonna dyno this friday hopefully. Anyways what a difference the controller makes, I recommend everybody to get one. Boost comes on stronger and quicker. I floored 2nd and 3rd gear last night, I couldn't beleive how fast my car is now. I was gonna look for a race today but of course its snowing. I guess I gotta wait til spring.

how is it faster? I heard its much more efficient then just letting the wastegate handle the boost, it acts as a sort of fail safe right?

So does the turbo feel more responsive than when the boost controller wasn't installed. Like stock wastegate psi compared to stock wastegate psi but boost controller installed. If it helps in that way I'm game hehe emoji Joe P here I come!

it helps, because your wastegate starts to open far before the pressure rating of the spring. With a boost controller, it works to keep that pressure away from the wastegate so that it starts to open later, when the set boost level is reached instead of when it is halfway there.

you can boost more then 9psi with a upgraded fuel system ( injectors, afc ), also with some retarded timing ( msd dis2 ). our internals are pretty strong. its been done up to 15-17psi with eric c ( star stage 2 with what i included above )... you also just got to be as crazy as him hehe ...=)

I'm running 10 psi again and haven't had a problem because i finally got off my lazy ass and did the fuel pump rewire. 10psi daily running strong. I've been running 9psi for the past 2 months and nothing seems to be wrong with my car so far.
(for anyone that didn't know i had a problem at 10psi that i was getting lean. It was because i was not getting a good volt reading from my fuel pump. so rewired and running great) hehehe so far so good....*knock on wood*

Sorry for the double post but I forgot....You will feel an increase in power with a boost controller. Even if you don't raise the boost up you will still feel the turbo kick in much quicker. But that was just my experience....

that's true.i read in an old issue of some magazine where they had 4 e.boost controlers and dyono'd it on the same car w/ the same amount of boost.the good ones spooled a lot sooner and is probably worth the money.best one was Blitz SBC-ID,followed by HKS EVC IV ,and a tie w/ the AVCR and profecB.the last two did good but you wouldn't beleive how much difference a couple more PSI around 3000-3500 rpm makes.personally,i'm broke but happy w/ my xs MBC.
