I was driving to work then all of a sudden when I punched it smoke started coming out of the exhaust, it was a lot of smoke too. I hooked up my vacuum hose from the vortech fmu to the intake manifold connected to the one on the valve cover in the middle. Am i doing something wrong here? I think fuel is going into my valve cover to the engine because my oil seems very thin and black please help me on how to hook it up right. Oh yea I have a star 2 turbo on a GS 99.

What color is the smoke?
Black = fuel
white = coolent
blue = oil
I have somke every once in awhile and mine is blueish/white, cause my #4 ringland is going out. Do a compression test.

the lons skinny line is a vacuum from the FMU that should get plugged into the intake manifold so u are ok there.
let us know what color is the smoke and if there are other simptoms. what are your egts?

just re-read your post. did u say you have the FMU vacuum plugged into the tube that comes out your valve cover?
it should be plugged into one of the outlets in the back of the intake manifold.

Let me see if i've got this right.

1. You've got a vacuum line hooked up from the intake manifold to the FMU. Check.

2. You've got a line running from the FMU to your valve cover??? HUH?

Uhhh... take a picture. I'd kinda like to see if what you're saying is what i'm picturing in my head.
