#12279, "does anyone have an oil cooler?"

I just found an aftermarket oil cooler, Its actually a spacer that goes in between the block and the filter with 2 ports on it. I found it for around 20 bucks. The lines and the cooler come seperate. If anyone is intersted let me know and we'll break out a dig camera during the install. late mike

Be careful with sandwich adapters, they can cause the filter to hang very low and you risk smacking it on ground objects. If you do use a sandwich adapter then you may want to use a shorter oil filter. Another option is to use a filter relocation system instead.

Hey bro I dont think I'll run the relocator. The reason being I already am having to put in a shit load of oil I think somewhere aroung 7 Qt. I think the filter will clear the ground okay. The pan hangs lower anyways. But thanks for the advice. mike

I think this link will help you out dude.

Hehe I love this oil cooler is massive compared to any dinky stock intercooler I've seen. The TSi oil cooler I saw at the junkyard is like half this size. He the problem could be though that the cooler TOO big hehe, it bulges out of the side of the bumper some and it's a really tight fit.

Make sure you tighten those lines good and use several wraps of teflon tape so it won't leak, hehe I've had it leak on my. The samdwich adapter does make the filter sit low, but if your not SLAMMED it won't hit nothign ,sux if it does hehe emoji My RRE FLTB sits lower than it though so if I hit the bar I know i'm getting close to the filter. You can get a shorter filter also, erm hehe still gotta get it, next oil change! ^_^

heh your car will love the oil cooler, I'm sure the bearing housing heats up that oil a lot, don't forget oil is the second coolant your engine has aside from water.

hook up the pics of your install rpmdude. i havent checked hades link, but am interested in what it offers other than cooler oil temps.

will it increase the performance? because of the colder engine?

So since the Ford 4.6L B&M Oil Cooler kit did not work (Part# 70263) I suppose the other Ford/Chrylser (Part# 70271) will work?? I have been to lazy to do major research on this. Does anyone have the 70271 B&M Cooler?? Does it fit??

haha yeah I'm assuming the chrylser one will work but don't quote me on that. I heard it has a lotta different adapter nuts. If not you can buy a differnt adapter nut that fits. Hehe it fits pretty losely remember that, I thought it was too lose but it turned out to be the right one.
