#12258, "Cat-back is on"

I put on my pace setter catback today. I have a small vibration rattle but its too dark to mess with it. I'll look in to it tomorrow. The installation wasn't too bad. I hate getting under my car though. I can't wait until the day I have a lift in my garage. The O2 sensor came out easily becuase I had an O2 sensor socket. The bolts were a litle rusted on the exhaust but they came loose with some liquid wrench. I hate the muffler that comes with the pace setter exhaust. It is soo ugly. It doesnt even sound that loud. My magnaflow was louder than the pacesetter. I am still waiting for my hayame muffler to get here from california. It should be here this week. Then I am going to the muffler shop and having them weld it on. My car feels faster even with the shitty muffler on there. The 2.5" piping does help. The turbo spools up quicker now. I just cant wait until I get that new muffler on there.

My temp problem was fixed a while ago. I just have to mess with the FPR. I need to get a vortech FPR soon. The HRC one gets a little wacky sometimes. I havent had the car on the highway yet so I dont really know how the temps get. Around town my car doesnt usually get any hotter than about 1550 when I am driving it under full boost. When I am just cruising around town my temps usually stay around 1250-1350. The only time the temps get a little hot is when I am on the highway doing 80mph or more. I will test it out tomorrow when I go to work on 417. I hope the temps get a little lower. I think the muffler that comes with the pacesetter system isnt very good. Its not even a straight through mufler. The hayame I am getting should be much better since it is a straight through design and it should let the turbo breath a little more. So the real test will be when I get the hayame on there.

Your gonna find other than being ugly and the rattle you described from the hangers needing a little adjusting down the pacestter, even muffler isn't that bad. Its not too loud except for the stupid resonator I dont like when you let off the gas and it performed like any other performance muffler by the ass-o-meter.

Hey Stan, What do you mean by the "ass-o-meter"? Are you talking about the vibrations? I think once I get the hayame on there it will perform and look a whole lot better. Did you ever just have the pace setter on your car with out the hayame type 7?

I think by ass-o-meter he means the butt dyno.

Yeah, the butt dyno, the butt-o-meter, the seat-of-the-pants dyno.

I make 400HP on the buttometer.

>Hey Stan, What do you mean by the "ass-o-meter"?

Yeah seat of the pants feeling of power, what they said

Are you
>talking about the vibrations?

No, although loud exhaust may give a perception of more power. I dont think I'm prone to that. I'm more like "all it did was make more noise"

I think once I get the hayame
>on there it will perform and look a whole lot better. Did
>you ever just have the pace setter on your car with out the
>hayame type 7?

I had the pacesetter exhaust on for a while before switching to a few different mufflers (flowtech, dynomax ultraflow then Hayame). Now that you have 2.5" piping I wouldn't expect any miracles out of just the muffler. it will look and sound alot better. Hayame is straight thru so it might be a little more powerful.

My hayame type 7 muffler just got here today. It looks a lot beter in person than it does in pics. I love it. It's going to get welded on this weekend.
