I gots the autometer boost gauge. Same one that came with the HRC kit (but silver face). I was just wondering, when I turn my car off the needle is suppose to sit at 0 right? Mine is a little above the 0 mark. Id say between 0 and 1 psi. Is that normal or is my gauge off a pound? Also, is the 0 mark really mean 1psi cuz I blow off at 0.

beats me dude my particular boost gauge is at 0 when I'm not boosting or the car is off. I plumbed it into the boost signal hose so it doens't do the vacuum thing. Haha I hate this SPI boost gauge I'm running 5 psi and it maxes out at 30 so the needle hardly moves.

I have the autometer phantom 2 1/16 (30vac-0-20psi) boost and 0-1600 egt gauges in the autometer dash bezel. I like reading vac and knowing just when I am about to boost. It also makes it much easier to stay out of boost when you do not need it.

Summit has good retail pricing on autometer stuff. I did find that most places do not carry the 30-0-20 and only carry the 30-0-30.

mine sits at 0 but was wondering when I'm iddling it dips to 12 -14 vacuum is that normal? at what vacuum sitting should it sit when iddling?

NA the vacuum is supposed to be at 18, mine is at 15 at idle after warming up.

My vac is at 20 when the car is warm and idling. When I am driving in vac around 3K rpm, let off the gas pedal completely, the vac drops to 24 until I give it more gas.

I am using a RS Akimoto driveway hose kit and use the small stuff for my boost and almost every vac line under the hood. The old plastic lines get brittle and have small leaks/cracks that you might not see.

Do not use the autometer boost plastic line that comes with it. Use silicone hose because it does not get brittle and does not kink. This can give you false readings....IMHO

according to Chiltons vacuum under idle is suppose to be 15-17. Mine is usually at 14 but i see it at 17 every now and again
