#12004, "NO BOOST!"

well I have no boost waht so ever now... fixed my boos gauge and know it works cus the needle moves when I blow into the tube.
so I did another leak test and there is a lot of air coming out
of the throttle (the mettal piece that you move in the engine bay to rev the car). there is a spring between the metal piece and the intake manifold, and I the air is coming out through there!
Any ideas?
how do I fix it? seems like a seal in there is busted or something.

fix one thing and another breaks, geez!

ohh forgot 2 say that when I fill the system with air, my boost gauge does not move. It should if there were no leaks right?
Thanks again guys.

The boost gauge is plumbed after the throttle plate, so there will be a pressure differene in the piping and the intake plenum.

Same thing happened to me.. Loud hiss coming from the TB area. All i could think of was that an o-ring for one of those sensors went. So i found a friend with a complete TB w/ sensors, and slapped the sucker on. Fine now..

Throttle body replacement is easy. it's only two bolts that hold it on, after you remove your intake pipe (or upper IC pipe, for us turbo guys) It's like a 20 minute job if you can just remember the quick way to do it. (For STAR kits, this is the easiest way i've found.)

1. Unclamp the upper IC pipe from the IC and pull it loose.
2. Unbolt the throttle body (two 13mm bolts)
3. Lift the entire assembly out (TB and UIP)
4. remove TB from UIP
5. Do whatever with your TB
6. Install new TB onto intake plenum
7. Push the silicon coupler all the way back on your UIP so that it's flush with the TB end of the pipe.
8. reinstall UIP by pulling silicon coupler over TB mouth and clamping back to the IC.

Cake, if your coupler is a stretched as mine emoji

I always used some RTV on mine instead of a gasket. The stock gasket is just a piece of cardboard, after all.

don't know much about these parts... could it be that it is just the gasket that is messed up and that is why is leaking? and I would not have to replace the tb?
What does RTV stand for??
Thanks Dino, you been a lot of help.

The TPS and the ISC are the only sensors on the TB. They both have
Orings. The are TPS($45) and ISC($125) new(I bought them both to fix my idle, didnt work!!).

You could try removing them and go to a hardware store and get new orings for like $0.10 a piece.
