#11994, "GReddy Type-S owners please read"

OKay...I was driving the other day and noticed my BOV wasn't sounding off as usual. I check under the hood and find out that my Greddy Type-s BOV was partially open during idle. I greased it but then it still woudn't close. Now prior before this I adjusted my BOV by openning it up and taking out the smaller spring..to make my BOV sound off more often ( this was bout 2 months ago). So I take off the BOV and clean it, grease the shaft and assmeble it. Same result...still open. I take off the line to the intake manifold and it closes..hmmmm, maybe the one spring ain't strong enuff to hold 15 in Hg of vaccumm...hmmm. maybe. I know at boost the line supplies the diaphram with boost to help the valve stay closed and at hi vacumm it helps the pull the valve up. But here's the real kicker I took it off again and noticed when I adjusted the top screw to make the spring harder it didn't make it harder it made the BOV not open all the way. So when I adjusted the screw all the way it can't even open - the top of the shaft hits the top of the spring plate..know what I'm saying. I think I may have assembled it wrong or did something wrong. Anybody have a diagram of how to assemble this BOV or ideas why it might be doing this?...thanx folks

You only get 15hg of vacuum? I get 21 at idle.. probably because I have a fully built head with big cams and extra large TB. Or is it because you have a vacuum leak. what are some of you others vacuum readings?

Stock idle is about 17 in Hg...I guess you got good vaccumm. I need to get that other spring cuz I lost mine. The one spring is too soft that the vaccumm pulls it up.

hey alvin,
my vacuum at idle is 17 also, i believe that is what most people get. i think you can buy the spring from greddy, like 20 bucks or something.
