you'll probally get pretty shitty gas mileage. Better to run too rich than too lean....

It should run exactly(or almost) the same.

Umm...I dont think so..I went from 300 miles per tank to 200 miles per tank. I do get on it a lot more than other people get on their cars but still. 300 to 200 driving it the EXACT same way. There is no way you should get the same gas mileage unless you dont use boost at all and that kinda defeats the purpose of getting a turbo huh? You go from 60psi fuel pressure to 90-110psi depending on which stage. If you get the same gas mileage Jason then you are a VERY lucky person.

You must NOT have read his entire post, b/c what Deano was asking was whether the car should drive the same with merely changing the fuel system to turbo-ready, but not inclusive of the turbo.

Here is his quote(question):
"is there any problem driving my n/a 97 rs with a star turbo system fuel system(255 pump, return line, fmu, fuel cut defencer). i will not have time to install the turbo until the following day"

In other words: He will NOT have the turbo installed until the following day. (emphasis added)

BTW, my gas mileage is FAR from being the same from boosting. However in Deano's questioned scenario, without a boost reference being available to up the fuel pressure to the injectors via a turbo, his mileage should not change. Also, besides the addition of an upgraded fuel pump, FCD and FMU, the fuel system being altered will merely be more akin to a 95 fuel system.

Hope that clarifies things for you.

Unless your return line and regulator (at the tank or underhood) dont have the capacity to return the excess flow from the 255GPH pump (they do) it wont run any different than stock. The FMU and FCD do nothing without boost, its like they arent there.
