I have sort of a wierd smell that comes into the car only when the windows are down. It smells a lot like propane gas... although im sure its exhaust. It doesnt smell like that when I have all of the windows closed and the air running (fresh air and recirc). It seems to enter the car the most when the windows are down and I am driving fast and have the air running (fresh air). I figure its either a leak at the manifold or a leak at the downpipe (since I didnt weld it).
For those of you who had your downpipe welded to the HRC downpipe, how the heck would you take the downpipe and turbo off once it is welded? On mine, the power seering hard line is so close to the pipe that I wouldnt be able to take the bolts off where the turbo connects to the downpipe. There just wouldnt be enough room to back that pipe off of those studs that it bolts too if the pipes were welded. Any advice??? I hate that stupid pipe clamp.

mine leaks there too...it was the one thing i hated about the HRC kit before i bought the kit, and i hate it even more now, lol.
ive tried ghetto-rigging it w/ JB weld, helped some but still have a small leak. just cant seem to get a good seal using the exhaust clamp hahn supplied...im just going to have a new downpipe made. going to use the top Hahn dp piece, then go to 3" after that. i already have a 3" mandrel bent exhaust and test pipe, so that dp is the last restriction i have in the exhaust. in the mean time, i may try using that exhaust leak quick fix stuff ive seen at discount auto, its like a exhaust heat wrap type stuff.
i also have a small leak at the turbo-downpipe conection. the 3rd nut is placed right under the bend and is damn near impossible to get a wrench in there to tighten everything up. anyone have any suggestions for getting at that 3rd nut?

I used a short open end wrench to tighten it down. If you get the wrench in there just right you can tighten it down VERY slowly, but I did get it to tighten down good that way.
Does your HRC pipe that runs from the turbo to the downpipe miss the power steering line by about a few milimeters? That is what prevents me from being able easily take the turbo off and put on... it drives me nuts.

yea, i actually had to bend the line and the dipstick over just slightly to get everything in..def a close fit. the 15mm open end wrench i have is just barely to long to really be able to do anything with...guess i gotta hunt down a short one :/
