#11559, "Code 51 Need some advice"

Hey all, I got 51. Too lean. My A/F was acting fine before my 100 mile journey back to my college home from the old people place. I pull up to get some gas, fill her up w/ some 91 oct, and went about my way. Before I got on the hwy, I noticed that my blinky A/F was GONE. NO light! Then it came on red and after awhile(not driving far) went back to normal. Boosted and all on the way. Got home and this morning did the same shit. This time it was running not NORMAL. Not bad but just not the same. Then I got 51. I just replaced ALL temp sensors, but I do have an O2 wire connector that was fried awhile back. Does anybody think that could be it. If so I'm just going to cut it and solder the wires together. Let me know what you guys think!

Shit is all apart. Typical...

Well I got some more info to deal with. I fixed my O2 sensor(which was NOT the problem) and now the car runs like crap. Also my EGT does not get really above 850. I haven't gotten on it accel. wise but having a code that says I'm too lean really makes me nervous. I reset the code but on the 5 min. drive to school, my blinky A/F gauge NEVER got green. It just flickers between red and stoich. Where is the intake temp. sensor? Also the code sheet said to check for cracked manifold. I know that the Star manifolds(as well as Hahns) are not prone to crack. Whats the deal? Please help fellas!

Shit is all apart. Typical...

Definately check for exhaust leaks. That is the leading cause of this code. You may also want to check your fuel pressure.

Are your EGT's safe?

SAFE? Yeah I'd say so. I can't get the car to warm up past 800 then driving around I'd get 850. I'm not pushing it at all until I get this taken care of. Man it must be a really good leak! Hope you guys are right. I'll break out the welder tonight! Now back to papers and finals ect...!

Reset your ECU. I've found that my car will ignore any output from the O2 sensor (making the car run piss rich) if the sensor has been disconnected for any length of time (like fixing wires, etc)

I think I might have found my prob. After letting the car run and opening up the hood, I was looking around and noticed that helicopters were trying to land under my car. Well, low and behold the 1/4 gap between my downpipe and cat. Think that could cause some funny downstream O2 readings and piss poor car running prob? As soon as I get some time and let her cool down a little I'll go out there and tighten everything back down. Sorry for that sarcasm, Finals are next week and every other f*ckin professor has to give an exam, during "dead week". Car is just adding to the stress. Sorry. FUCK!!! OK now I'm done.
