#11555, "HRC Stage 2 question...."

I was wondering if anyone knew what the kit is set at when you first get your HRC Stage 2 (as in how many psi of boost). I am just curious if I'll need a boost controller to turn it up to 7 lbs or boost. I'm going to run 7 lbs. until I break in the turbo, then turn it up to 8 until I upgrade internals and get a FMIC (then I'll boost higher). Anyway, tia!

It's supposed to be at 7, but we've heard of many people who've gotten the wrong wastegate and had it set at 5. As you know, it's not a big deal to get a boost controller and dial it up correctly.

Why would it be safer with the controller?

Boost controllers can only raise boost and create problems with overboosting. I would think to go without a boost controller at first, and see how you fair at the preset, lower boost amount.
