Ok so I was trying that boost leak test with the cardboard and I reved the engine and the car died. Ok that's normal, good no leaks. But I also found that by BOV plunger was getting stuck open, no prob...a lil grease and tighten down the screw. I tried the test again and looked at the compressor inlet. Every time I'd rev it, a little oil would leak spin out the wheel. I shut her down and check the shaft play, it's good and it spins freely. Does anybody have any idea where the leak would be??...ANybody ever take apart a T3/T4 turbo before to find a leak? Thanks

Is the car smoking alot at wierd idle times? white smoke? I just went through that whole problem with my turbo. I found out that the shaft seal was screwed and the exhaust housing had a crack in it. I sent my turbo to turbochargers.com They rebuilt it and upgraded it for a real good price. I still dont understand the part about your car dying. Well as far as seeing a little oil at idle or at a little throttle? Im sure under boost that = a whole shit load of oil. Better take it easy and get it checked out for sure

I know turbo bearings and seals sometimes leak oil. It's a pretty common problem. I think my turbo leaks a little oil just above where the oil drain is located. Not very much so it's even noticeable, but I can see some oil condensation on the drain hose.

Your oil leak may be in an advanced state of this problem.

It leaks rite at the inlet of the compressor when I rev it a little. Man...I will trade this t3/t4 for a t3 that bolts rite to my exsisting star manifold anyday. How much did you pay for a rebuild?..
