Just wondering if I can paint my exhuast manifold. I know those badboys get pretty damn hot, like glowing hot. Hehe can I do the turbine housing also? The downpipe is already black might as well make the rest of the system black.
I have this 1200 degree ceramic exhuast paint. It basically for hot stuff. I see some that go up to 1500 degrees also. Just wondering if ne1 has done it and the paint has survived. Cast iron manifolds look yucky after a while.

yikes haha that's some hot stuff, I guess I should get some of the 1500 degree paint. I am painting it black though so would it turn grey or something?

Even grey would be better than the color of my manifold right now.
Yeah, dude, test the 1500* paint. Let us know how it works.

and that is what I have sprayed on my header wrap and steel runners. It has held up fine and I redo it once a year. Not because of chipping, but it tends to fade slightly. I would try this before anything(even 1500 degree paint). You can usually buy it any place that sells header wrap, header straps etc.
Mine is painted silver. Turbo cars do have higher exhaust temps then normally aspirated cars and this may be too much for any paint/coating. Let us know what works.
