Well my car is in the shop getting the tubular turbo manifold that I had on it taken off and getting a cast iron Star manifold put on instead, well the owner of the shop happened to have a t-3 turbo lying around and was willing to let it go for about a 150 dollars, at first I was like....yeah, sure, That means that I wouldn't have to make an adapter plate for my t-25 to the star manifold, but after looking at the t3 turbo, the flange for that doesn't match up to the star either, on the star manifold the flange sits horizontal like this "---" while on this turbo the flange from the turbo sits vertical like so "l" so it's the same pattern but rotated, anyhow since I'm getting a flange made anyhow, should I just stick with the t-25 or go for the t3 with internal wastegate, I've had some friends with bad experiences with that type of turbo, any advantages or disadvantages? remember I'm a a/t, rs-t. Thanks in advance!

Mick

I dont see how it could be any less reliable than a T3/T4 since its the same except compressor housing. Most T3s are good for around 300hp. You should find out the AR ratios and specs. Its got to be more efficient than a T25 at all but 3psi of boost and should spool up pretty quick too (if its turbine has a .48 ratio like the T-birds and Mustang T3s). I cant think of any real advantages except its bigger which in this case is better. For $150 you dont have much to lose.
