#10999, "Stock Turbo?"

My friend told me of a place where i could technically buy a remanufactured stock turbo from a GSX or GS-T for ~300$. The question is, would the turbo fit a GS engine? I have been told that the engine block, drivetrain and everythign on a GST and a GSX is not the same as the GS and RS, but I figure if you can buy a turbo kit from another company and have it work, this should be able to work too. Any ideas?

You can't just buy a turbo and hook it up to your engine and have it work. You need a new manifold, new lines, intake pipes, etc... its cheaper to buy a kit then to buy the pieces individually.

Yes, I know you have to buy all those parts. But I can get those parts remanufactured, say from a scrapyard where a turbo eclipse died but the engine is in good shape. In total, that still ends up a lot cheaper than at 1500$ stage 1. But my question is that with the GS engine and drivetrain and engine block, would it be actually possible to install a stock turbo into a GS (including all the pipes and hoses)?

A friend of mine worked for mitsubishi and he said it would be possible with some engine modifications. Any ideas?

Nothing will fit. You will not be able to hook up the exhaust manifold or anything. If this was cheaper to do than a $2500 turbo kit (you can find blown 4g63s for $400) don't you think there might be one person who would do this. There is no way sooooooo I guess you will just have to buy a kit.

Still being designed but worth a look!

sorry to rian on your parade but it won't work. we have chrysler engines whereas the turbos are mitsubishi. you'd probabley have better luck trying to get a paxton supercharger to fit your car! hahaha. but yeah, just buy a kit from Hahn or Star.
