forgot to mention it was cooold as sheeeeit. and i didn't do anything like take out my subs or adjust tire pressures, just went to get a time.
met a kid that has an rs but wants to get a GST and make it AWD. I'm like why don't u jess get a gsx, cuz it's a bitch to go from 2wheel to awd. he's like, no it's not that hard, it's kinda over-rated, it's pretty easy. i was like, yeahhh, see ya around buddy....

I called locally about slicks that would fit the stock 14's. $130 each for Mickey Thompson part number 3017. You can get Nitto 205/55/14's from www.discounttiredirect.com $85 each for that size.

I didn't run much better than you. I was running WAY RICH with my EGT temps around 1400 degrees at full boost.

I ran a 14.810 @ 93.34. I need to trim out some of that fuel next time I go. I just turned the damn boosted fuel pressure about all the way in (up) to be extra careful on a cool evening. After seeingduring my run that the EGT's were that low though, I knew I screwed up.

It was the only one of two runs I did. (REAL busy tonight) The first run was God awful since a friend of mine in his Del Sol tire hopped his car to death right before me. His tranny split in two right there and they had to haul his shit off the track. I babied my launch so much after that b/c of my own paranoia...it was ridiculous.

BTW, my 60' launch on my second run was a decent 2.341 with my 17's. Not too bad for me. I could definitely feel the difference with a decent launch. My top end was about the slowest as I ever remembered it though with the added fuel pressure. I've also been having problems with my HRC fuel clamp as of late and even unhooked that for the run since I didn't want any leanness.

I'll get my car tuned and I'm pretty sure I can run some low to mid 14's pretty confidently. This was only my second time ever at a track and my first time in a 1/4 mile!

Jason, that is pretty much exactly what I ran with 7-7.5psi. 14.86 @94.7mph.

That was with a check engine light because of the FPR or o2 sensor...not sure exactly which it is yet. Also running very rich at .96
Really the only difference was I had a 2.5 60' time. (launches suck..I need to get better).

As for stage 1, my best time was 15.4 @92mph.

You are doing fine with 15.1 emoji

I'm planning on rebuilding but,I need something to hold me over untill I get evrything together(when ever that may be)Have you been running nitrous on your car for a while?any problems?is there anything I should know before doing this?

Thanks,

Are all of you running HRC kits? All of you guys 60fts are horrible. Mine were too before I learned how to slip out the clutch. That method eventually kills your clutch, especially a stock one but it works wonders. Besides, if you dont race much like me, you'll get plenty of longevity out of it. Get your 60's down to 2.2 and you'll definately be in the 14's. I'll soon have my timesheet scanned.

Yeah, HRC stage 2. My launches are horrible.

14.8 @ 94.7mph with a 2.5 60' time. I forget I am at a track and launch like I would on the street...bog the hell out of the engine or spin the wheels forever. With that trap speed I should be in the low 14s.
A friend ran a 14.1 @ 93mph in his 90 TSi AWD.

LAST EDITED ON 20-Oct-01 AT 11:21 AM (PST)

I just brought the rpms up to 3500 and took off. That's how I managed my 2.3 60 footer.

I think with a FWD vehicle running street tires, a 2.2-2.3 60 footer isn't too bad. A 2.1 is ideal probably.

If you want to use slicks, you'll really add some stress to your clutch and tranny I'm guessing.

I don't feel too bad about going to the 1/4 mile for the first time and getting into the 14's right away. I'm pretty confident that 420a Stage 2's should be in the 14's pretty consistently using the launch method I used. It's not necessarily skill oriented or anything, but I think it'd get you a decent time.

IMO, with a stickier tire, and a well tuned car, 13's are surely obtainable by a good driver boosting close to 10 lbs.

I look forward to getting an UDP and a bigger D/P with a high flow cat to really have some fun. emoji

Jeff....The reason why he ran a low 14 at only 93 mph is because he has al wheel drive. I dont care how good you can launch you will never get a 60ft time that is as good as a GSX.

Last night I got my best 1/4 time of 15.216 @ 90.79. My previous was 2 runs at 15.766. Pretty consistent i guess. This time at the track it was a cool 50 degrees and i took out my subs. I got my best times when i went up against some mustangs, I concentrated a lot because I wanted to keep up with them for a little bit. I still have the stock exhaust which is killing my top end horribly, so once I replace that I expect 14s.

damn...seriously, your guys 60' times need some improving...i hate saying that, sounds mean, but my best 60' in my 95 avenger i4 auto w/ intake and exhaust is the same as some of you guys w/ lighter eclipses, 5 speeds, and turbos (2.5 60' on the way to a dismal 16.7@82)

altho i have to admit, i was at the track the other night and couldnt launch for shit...2.9 60', damn that sucked :/
