#10940, "Do i need 2.5" exhaust? + a few other Q's..."

Why are cat-back systems the perdominant way to go? What does increasing you pipe diameter AFTER the cat do if the pre-cat piping is the same diameter? also what about stock cat flow? if i do 2.5" before and after the cat, will the stock cat be okay?
my plan: headers(4-2-1)to stock cat, cat to gs-t muffler, all piping 2.5".
My pipe dream is for turbo, but thats a long way off, if ever. so all this is with non-turbo in mind?
thanks

Note trying to be a prick with this statement BUT why dont you just stop buying all this other cheaper stuff and put that money into a turbo fund. I say this because I see you have probably already spent probably as much as a turbo kit would have costed. $50-300 here and there will add up quick.

Still being designed but worth a look!

Thats a very valid point and i was actualy just mulling that over in my head today, i guess the issue for me is is that i dont really know anything beyond what a turbo is and does. i start reading about all this other shit for them like controlers, BOV's, FMIC's, downpipes, shaft wabble, bigger injectors, fuel pumps, 3in. exhaust, T this, garret that, etc. im freakin lost and wouldnt know where to start. I AM TURBO ILLITERATE!!!!! plus with just a "basic" set-up starting at 1800.00 not counting in all the other stuff mentioned above, plus no real local help, its kind of overwhelming. im a farly decent mechanic, but i dont think i would want to try a turbo install my self... DEEP SIGH...
