#107721, "Need some input on how to make a 3" down pipe for a 5 bolt 2.5" turbo..."
Well I wanted some of your input on how have some done this or how would be a good way to do it. I have a turbo with a 5 bolt flange that has an outlet diameter of 2.5 inch and I want to make a 3 inch downpipe. Also I would like it to have a v-band for easy on- off when ever I need some space to work on the car.
I was thinking of a few ways to do this:
-Weld a 3 inch v-band directly to the housing and do the downpipe like that.
-Or use the same flange as above and forget the v-band...
-Or just use a normal flange and contour a piece of 2.5" pipe till it's 3" and go from there.
Also wanted to know what oil restrictor should I use for my turbo's oil inlet, I want one that's in-line, I have seen some but the size of the restrictor holes are different so wanted to be sure I got the one that will work best I already blew the seals on my turbo once from too much oil pressure...

Do not weld anything to the turbo housing itself.

I wanna do that, but I think I can get that done here for less. And I already have the 5 bolt flange and the 3" v-band I would only need some one to make it.
I am just looking for options I will know for sure after next weeks weekend when I put the engine on the bay and see what space I have to work with... PS and AC really don't help with that but I wouldn't dare to remove the PS it's not efficient for a DD.... Maybe if I ever make it a track car I would take that of and do a side exit exhaust...
Any other input is welcome...

I would also just stick with the 2.5 to 3. If it was me. Also to go with the 2.5 vband and come down to a small section of piping and used a nece adapter that gets welded in to a 3"pipe.
