Has anyone tried making turbo gaskets out of a copper sheet. I just bought some .005 thick 36 guage sheet of copper and i'm planning making some. Now, the question is will this work? If so should i use one or make two and use some copper spray between them, to stick better? Any thoughts? Thx

IIRC most copper gaskets have embossed sections on them that are pressed in. I don't know how you'd make something like that.

You may find that copper does not make a durable turbo gasket. At those temperatures and in that environment, I think copper with corrode into paper and blow away. That is what happened when I used copper downpipe gaskets (after a year or so). The stock turbo gaskets I have used were always embossed stainless steel. They hold up very well at those temperatures and in that environment.

What Corbin said is very accurate but if you insist on learning the hard way your going to need some way to roll a bead around the inner edge of the gasket. Look at any T3 gasket and you will inderstand what i am trying to explain.

i decided to go with Percy's XX Carbon Exhaust Gaskets material P#68006, it's suppose to hold up to 2000F, will see how this holds. BTW what's the best way to cut bolt holes on gasket.

Well here in Puerto Rico most race cars use Bronze HG thickness is according to whatever your setup needs. I've seen some of them and those things are pretty solid.... BTW they make a groove around the chamber on the head and then the wedge a wire like strip in there I can't remeber if that ring is made with copper or bronze..... either way it's just to give you an idea...
Haven't seen one fail ever!... wich is good but it's bad cuz it seals so good that if something happens your engine blows up rather than the HG that's why I didnt do mine that way... I'd rather burn or blow out the HG than blow up my block or crack the head... HG is way cheaper....lol

That's called O-ringing the head. Bullet has proved that's not necessary with ARP's up over 400HP
