With 3500 miles on the motor I noticed some drizzle around the filter on top of my catch can. Fuck. I forgot to keep an eye on that bitch. Last time I checked it was at 500 miles and there was barely a bit of oil at the bottom (the can holds 500 ml). Now it was completely full of a nice milkshake of blow by and oil.
If you spend more time on the right side of the vac/boost gauge, then check your catch can, heh.

Maybe the oil is just foamed from the pressure pushing through it after the level exceeded the inlets.

Whenever I check mine every 2-3K miles, I always have a mixture that is somewhat similar to that. Usually I have the foamy stuff floating on top, and then a normal oily mixture on the bottom, and it always smells like fuel vapor.
I dont think the way yours looks is anything to worry about.

why don't people just use a crankcase evac system? it's less maintenance, but you don't have the luxury of measuring the sludge lost... what are the differences

1. buy one of these, and weld it after the cat...
you could buy just that one, or buy a set, its just a little more, like this:
the threaded part screws into a small snout that you weld into the exhaust...

one thing I dont agree with on that diagram is that our 2nd o2 will get all crap on it if it's installed in that location. I have mine after the cat and after the 2nd o2. Connect a hose from it to the valve cover breather port. wallah. done.

it's a fair amount at idle, but when throttle's applied, it gets rather strong. Can't imagine how much it'd pull when under boost, but i'm sure its plenty. I've never actually measured it

Milkshake is normal.
You know how I check my level in my catch cans? When I have little white pee pee coming out of it, I know its full, lol (um talking about the catch can here).
