#106909, "Sealing Internal Wastegate"

So I'll be using a Tial external wastegate on my setup with a 14b and need to block up the internal gate. I know most people just tack weld it, and I've done that. But it still doesn't seal very well...I put a compressor behind it and can feel the air flow through the gaps pretty good. I can try to weld it totally shut but all I have is a crappy arc welder and I'm not that skilled. Otherwise I was going to try JB weld. Is this a possible fix or no? I've read that it's only heat resistant to 500F or so. Any input? Thanks!

Snot it shut with the arc welder. JB weld will melt.

It never seals perfectly as it is anyhow. It always has a decent amount of leak by. Just tacking it will be fine, but snotting it is better I guess.

Built block.
Refinished head.
Tuned suspension.
TURBO.
