Hey guys, what's the best of the two? I'm running a missing link now, but I'm thinking about switching over. Whats the difference between them and what are some of the pro's and con's of each. Thanks.

I make the 3 wire FCD's.

The FCD;s are nice because you set it once, and your pretty much done and dont have to worry about cleaning it or unusual failure. They are extremely reliable, unlike 'most' ML's out there.

I personally used the ML before I started selling the FCD's and it was nothing but a headache for me. The filter would pop out under higher boost and cause fucked up AFR.

I have only used ML and really like it. I have never had any problems with mine in the 2 years I have used it.

how much do you sell the fcds' for? Like I said I am running the missing link now, and ive had the filter fall out so much at just 7lbs that I actually used electrical tape to hold it in there. So what all do you have to set to get it operational?

Installation generally includes connecting five wires. Two wires get spliced into the signal wire to the MAP sensor and two wires get tapped into the +5V and ground wires. One last wire must be tapped into a +12V source.

Setting them consists of simply adjusting a small screw inside the case; that's it!

To the OP, the Missing link is a way that is based on mechanical means. Some people have issues with them. typically keeping them clean is all that required.

An FCD is a voltage clamp for the Map sensor. Thats all it really does and they work as well. Sometime the adjustable ones will need to be re-adjusted once due to barometric pressure. After that you never have to mess with them.

If you want to make one yourself and can solder basic electronics just search around the Net, there are a few designs people have made that work.

You can also post in the Classified if you just want to buy one or check our vendors.

missing link worked for me for up to 9psi boost levels for years, turned up beyond that, failure rate increases exponentially (in my case). Went with FCD, no problems.

my missing link was fine till the filter clogged up, never had an issue with the FCD that came with my STAR kit (YEARS ago)

Just as another POV, I used a ML @ 8PSI. I hated it, if I would ease into boost or go between 0-2 PSI, it would make the car shudder and jerk violently. (Yes, I cleaned it regularly.) Go with an FCD.
