Your going to need a lot of stuff. I have replaced the majority of my hrc kit within the last year. For example the fpr is crap, the fuel defenser is crap, and the downpipe is not the greatest. The manifold, turbo, fmic and air pipes are great tho! If I were you I would read through the posts in this turbo forum and try to get the hrc stage 2 with fmic minus the fpr, and fuel defenser for a discount. Jump on ebay of the for sale section of this forum and get a vortech SFMU to replace the Cartech FPR that hahn uses. Then you can get the missing link for about $55 on the web to replace the fuel defenser. That should be a good start! Good luck, if you have questions a lot of common problems have been posted before so you can get a quick answer useing the search.

It's a wonder why Hahn hasn't replaced some of the "crappy" parts that they include in their turbo kit. I bet it would keep a good number of customers from going with the Star kit. I certainly wouldn't mind paying $3500 for the stage 2 Hahn kit if it came with a bigger DP, missing link, better BOV, and at least a Vortech FMU. Come on Hahn! emoji

turbo - good
piping and intercooler - good
oil system - good
FCD - replace with a Missing Link from group5motorsports.com
fuel pump and lines - good, might want to add a walbro in tank to quiet the external pump down
FPR - ABSOLUTE CRAP. i blame this unit with the death of my last engine. replace it with the S-FMU from Vortech. yes, i am trying to scare you here.
downpipe - save the original "downpipe" that they give you. bring it to a custom exhaust shop. tell them that it's aluminized steel with a ceramic coating, and that you'd like them to use it to make you a new downpipe. looks kind of like this when you're done...

and get some 30# or larger injectors. after my experence with the stock injectors with extreme fuel pressures, it sucks.

The cartech fpr destroyed my stock bottom end also! POS!

And yeah no matter what hahn says do not push more than 100 psi through your injectors. Injectors max out at 100 psi or less and hahn tells you to push 125 psi through stock injectors at 7 psi, thats bullshit, dont listen to them. You can't run more than 6 psi of boost on stock injectors safely no matter what.

i second that etx. no matter what they say, 6-7 psi is the absolute max on the stockers.

There is a couple more things you might want to get for your fuel system in addition to what's already been mentioned. Tuning your fuel right is directly proporational to the life of your engine. The hahn kit comes with a crapy little FP gauge. Go to Summit racing and buy a liquid filled FP gauge (the liquid keeps the need from bouncing). As your doing your install mount it somewhere permanantly in the engine bay. (don't make it so permanant though that it can't be "unhooked" or moved b/c you will have to tape it to your windshield to tune your car intitally). Also, I used steel braided fuel lines for all my additional fuel lines. I used regular ones to begin with and I had one burst and it was spraying all over the engine bay. Fuel and heat is a bad combo, practically blew myself up. Save your life and the trouble and just install steel braided ones right from the beginning, you'll never think about your fuel lines again and they'll be much better protected from road debris and other stuff that you might kick up while driving. Good luck on your install and welcome to the boosted club.

Alrite so they both look good but wheres a place to atleast buy the star kit i cant find one. And also what injectors do you recommend. Also what are any other mods or anything you can think of that i should get before turbo pertaining to turbo or not turbo. Ex. gauges, clutch, what not. Thanks again

If you plan on staying under 13psi, then get 30# injectors (I think they are like 319cc). If you plan on 15 plus psi then get 390cc's or 440's (I've heard with the 440's you need a SAFC to tune it). I just bought Accel 30# injectors from Summit.
