#104402, "Issues with swapping wastegates on treadstone turbo kit?"

Hey everyone, i read that on the star kit that there are limitations on changing the wastegate on that manifold. Does anyone know if there is the same issue on treadstone kit? I'm thinking about upgrading from the turbonetics evolution wastegate, to the turbonetics racegate wastegate. Any opinions?
Thanks

The Treadstone and Star manifolds are pretty much the same. Cas, log style manifold. There arent limitations on picking a wastegate unless your going larger then a 38mm I would imagine. A 35 and 38 are flanged the same. A 40 is square flanged on MOST gates, and then a 44 and larger is usually a clamp style.

Hmmm..... I can't remember the size on the evo wastegate. It says capable over 400hp, but i dont allows trust what they say. Maybe i'll get lucky and it will work. I should be able to spring mod the wastegate right?

Unless it uses a two-bolt diamond flange (same as a 35/38) it's not going to fit.

In treadstone's description, they claim to have a customer running 600whp with that kit with the turbonetics 60-1. I dont know if they changed wastegates. Not sure if i believe 600whp, unless they're spraying too.

I’ve seen that, it’s nothing but a market pitch to get people to buy there kits. 600 with a turbonetics 60-1, lol

ya, i dont think i really need the 60-1. But depending on how much it costs to upgrade, i might do it anyway just for more efficiency at higher boost than the 60 trim can handle.
