i cant seem to find anything about the horsepower limitations of various size fuel feed lines. now some that i have seen had way too much math for me right now and were intended for much larger engines. (cc/min @ x-psi w/ y duty cycle %) im looking more for general guide lines now my A1000 pump has a -10 ORB fitting and the 2 choices on reducers were -8AN and -6AN
running twin rails fed by a "Y" block (or possibly a small swirl pot), and a goal of 20psi (turbine rated at 400hp), im trying to figure out which to go with.
i dont want to overkill and go too large and loose flow velocity, but i dont want to have to crank the pressure up to supply the needed fuel to the rails
anybody know these limits? or which size i should go with? and does the return line size have to match the feed size?

"flow velocity" in a fuel line is not a huge consideration. Total flow at rated pressure is.

Yeah the higher your pressure the lower your flow rates will be and just the opposite for lower pressures. Basically without doing all the match you need, just go with -6an.
The Turbo guys are running 500hp on factory lines so i think 6an is a well considered upgrade and will flow enough for you.
