#103280, "Need help building my turbo!"

Ok so here is the deal. I have a TD05H turbo sitting in the garage, and I just picked up a sidemount intercooler. I know I am a far way from home plate, but what else do I need to make this operation go smoothly. Here are my plans.

Right now I know for a fact that I have to redo the fuel lines, by drilling a hole in the oil pan. I know that I need to find a manifold that will work on the 420a. <-- Were do I find this? Do I have to have it fabricated? I know that I need piping, and that bigger injectors are reccomended. I know that I will need to either "chip" the ECU, or install a S-(AFC) in order to control the boost levels, and I know that I will need to spend a little amount of time and cash on the supplies, and applications. Please any help is welcome. I have heard that I will need to buy a new fuel pump and that I will need to replace other things. I look forward to the help. Thanks again!

Sweet I never get to say this first. This site has a great search option....... Try using it.

I will help you a bit
manifold search star manifold
search 420a fmic piping
Use the injectors from the turbo eclipse 450s with a t25 turbo. bigger turbo get bigger injectors
a safc controls air and fuel search that. We also dont chip the ecu we trick them search megasquirt this will help you alot
a mbc controls boost manual boost controller search that too
you do need a better fuel pump

And that should get you started. You will get as much out of your car, as you put into it. With that said, I just spent the last 5-6 months, building a GST from new engine up. Big brakes, coilovers, bigger turbo, fmic you get the idea.
Everything I learned I got from the search feature. Its that good
This is also my first big buildup. Like I said its all what you put into it.

We will build you bigger and stronger

Holy Tapdancing christ! who the hell told you that?
you need to beat that person with a cresent wrench until he spits out the right advice.

thank god you came here!

first off sit down and write out your power goals, that will determine your build scope and budget multiplier.
a 7psi DD build is WAY different then a 400hp MSnS Drag car.

then keep a pad of paper next to you as you read through alll the old post you can about "custom turbo"
make notes and learn as you read.

eventually you will look down at the paper and realise you just pieced your turbo kit together. then just find vendors for your pieces and double check everything before you tear into your turbo install.
*i swear that you will either be running to the hardwear store or overnight shipping something before you start your turbo for the first time. its usually somthing small too lol

Thanks for the information. I have been looking a lot of things up throughout the past few days. I want to push around 250+ as for power. I want a little boost, I guess in short terms something to be proud of. I have a guy that wants to build it for 300 bucks because he is dying to get the stuff out of his garage. I would rather build this myself, even if more money and time is involved. Anymore help is a BIG help. I appreciate your time.

if you want 250+ with low boost then you should throw away the tdo5h and get a 60-1 or something else fancy. oh, and research fuel setups so you don't buy things you don't need or blow the engine.

got that megasquirt!
