Well I finished my project GST today........and I switched a set of water and oil lines FUCK...She ran for about 30 sec ran fine. I think we caught it early enuff. I drained the oil pure white and milky. The one and only thing I didnt mark because I would remember. Im a jackass.
I poured 2 gallons of oil into the engine to flush the system. Filled her up again to sit over night then drain and flush again. Then I will run her for about a 30sec/min and do it again and again till its clear, sound right? Or do I need to tackle this different.

I have never been more pissed at myself then right now.

how fucked am I

how long did it run with the lines mixed up? was it just idling or did you drive it. If it was just idling for a min you should be ok.

idling 30sec to a min at most. With 2 revs looking for leaks Im leaving work early to continue the flushing process. How much oil should I get.

dude that sucks! You should be ok it was only runnung for a short time.

I was drilling a hole for running a battery cable for my amp. I hit with a perfect shot, my fuel line. Not only did I drill a nice little hole in my fuel line, I did this right between the fire wall and the sub frame. The only 8" of fuel line that you cant get to. That sucked!

I'd fill the oil and dry crank for a while like you're priming the system.

after you've driven a few miles on it it might not be a bad idea to do an engine flush service as well just to be sure

dumbest thing I've done so far was drill a hole through my hood straight into the brake fluid reservoir while I was fitting some aftermarket squirters (not the led ones, they're fan spray style)

I called midas, after I flush it a few more times at home. Im taking her to them $100 bucks for a full flush. The guy chuckled I guess someone did the same thing the other day.

I should be ok to drive less then 3 miles after I flush it a few more times?

don't spend $100. go to the local parts store and buy a can of engine flush <$10

follow the directions on the can PRECISELY not doing so can frag your engine.

put in fresh oil, things should run great.

now you just saved ~$90

I've done this on the eclipse and my WRX several times, no spun bearings

Yep this is the dumbest thing I have done to date. But on a side note after 4 flushes she is clean and running. No leaks one squeaky belt getting her alined(sp) on sunday. Some small turbo issues only boosting 4-5psi, but Im guessing a boost leak some where.

Im happy I have a GST now
