This is the Turbonetics T3/ T4 Turbo. Please forgive the overspray of black. I sprayed a coupler with flat black to match the color scheme. Little did I know I accidentally sprayed part of the compressor. I will remove this soon. Also I heard that I am not recieving the full amount of boost because I am using the Nipple on the compressor and boost drops alot when it goes through the Intercooler and there is the possibilty of boost leaks and such. Anyways I took my filter off and I have a film ( fairly dry) that has collected around the compressor. Its almost like it was slung out or somthing. I did change to Mobile 1 high mileage, and that stuff appears to be way thinner that conventional oil. Could the synthetic mobile one be too thin for the turbo. This is an almost new turbo. Maybe 6 months old. No shaft play and no leaks that I know of outside the turbo. The exhuast turbine is still pretty clean much like the compressor you see here. What oil should I be using here?

I am suspecting that since I may be loosing boost before the air gets to the manifold that it could create a overly rich situation. Because the same signal hose on the turbo is connected to a T and feeds into the Hahn FMU, So the FMU thinks there is 5.25 PSI boost (Tial 38mm small red spring) and really in the engine is 4 psi or somthing around there.

A light film is normal.
