#102923, "X-FactorTurbo.com 420a manifold"

http://www.x-factorturbo.com/product_info.php?products_id=697

Just ran across this doing some random internet searching. It looks like a decent design ram horn style manifold, unlike the obx ram horn, thats made to order. I am curious if it is designed for the neon or eclipse because they don't specify, it looks like it would clear the t-stat housing just fine. Anyone ever heard of this manifold or any experience?

It better be damn good for that price! It is definately only for the eclipse, I dont see how or why you would put a ramhorn on a neon.

To me $750 for a well designed ss tig'ed mani isn't bad... you gotta remember you get what you pay for. And the neon guys can and do run ram horn style manifolds ceck out http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t=255537&highlight=ram+horn.

Sced 40 runners....

That's got to be strong.

I looked at that about 6 months ago and thought my money would be better spent elsewhere.

That is ALOT of money but i'm sure ALOT of work goes into them.

In my opinion and I am no expert but experimenting with my manifold, sch10 ss is just fine, sch40 is huge, thick and very heavy. I originally pruchased sch40 to make my manifold, I tacked a couple pieces together and couldnt believe how much it weighed. I later switched to sch10 ss and think sch10 is just fine.

Thicker pipes hold more heat. Hotter exhaust gas entering the turbine=faster spool.

If the welds are up to par, that's got to be a damn good manifold.

That's all i'm saying. If sch10 works for you, that's great too.

the welds look kinda sketchy to me. they are concave is some spots that are completely visible in the photo and would fail an aircraft quality test. i question the long term reliabilty on a high horsepower project as well.

I have had long discussions with this guy (Robert Wright) and still have his personal number in my email at home. He has been in the industry for more than 20 years however, like most fabricating shops has had his fair share of issues with employees doing their work on time. He basically got up one day and fired everyone only to close the store front down and do the work on his own at his schedule. Winters are a slow season for him because he goes Snowmobiling for most of the winter if i recall.

Anyone who wants this manifold can shoot him an email and he will respond but you will need to be very patient. The manifold can be modified to your specs but it will take at least 30 days to produce.

Another thing to consider......Josh currently has time on his hands and has the credentials to do the work as well.
