SO, we got everything installed last night... install was a bitch it was a little tight in there, but we managed. Started it up, had to fix an oil leak and all seemed good. idles great, slight exhaust leak (ima try and fix that with new gaskets though) Now, the issue arises when i Floor it... it seems to hit fuel cut. and very violently i might add. now if i baby it, or put it in a higher gear and floor it, it's fine. i'm running a Walbro, and Missing link (yes i have a fmu), and its smooth as hell, as long as i stay under 50% or so throttle. it'll hit, 7 PSI, drop down to 5 (WG set at 7, STAR FMIC=5 to the intake) and runs like a champ, but as soon as i dump the gas, POOF, fuel cut. car is fast as hell otherwise, but i wanna lay on it!! any ideas? I searched, but its late, im tired, and i figure this is an easy way to announce my install, and get help all at once.
Thanks guys, im going to pass out now. i'll post up pics of the install in the morning or on sunday.

Edit: my spelling sucks right now. Also, i still have my EGR system installed if it matters.

** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **

Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.

get rid of the missing link dude, 'most' people have nothing but problems with those. buy a FCD from me, and I bet everything will be fine. they are 25 bucks. PM me if you want one.

Why do people still buy missing links nowadays? FCDs are cheaper and work a heck of a lot better. Also, part-throttle boosting is not good with your fuel setup.

Because I dont think a lot of fresh turbo guys out there know about FCD's. I think all they read about or find on the internet for sale are the Missing Links and they suck.

Mike, Arent you using one of mine too?

Actually, i bought the entire kit, with ML off Malenko. I was hoping the ML would work, but i'm going to pick up an FCD and trash the ML. Oh, and i swaped the foam i was using for a filter on the ML, with part of a cig butt filter, after talking with Malenko, and now i can hit about 75% throttle just fine. as long as i dont drop it straight to the floor, its good. my crappy blinky light claims i'm running rich as hell (almost all the way green) so it seems i just need to mess with the ML or wait for the FCD and all should be good.

After I put on my turbo kit it ran like you are describing and if you haven't already I would get a new coil pack, spark plugs, and spark plug wires.

What he said^

I haven't had much experience with boosted 420a's, but I can tell you that when I bought my GST, it was doing the exact same thing you are describing. I changed plugs and wires and the car runs like new.

Buy Mike's FCD and change your plugs/wires. Maybe go with a hotter plug since your turbo now. Maybe someone else can recommend you a good plug/wire combo.

i still need to re-route some vac lines and do a little bit more. i messed with some things and its much better as long as i dont floor it in second gear its good. if i ease into boost in 2nd and then drop it its golden, so im sure its a problem with the ML. But it is much better now.

I think i have the rest of my problem figured out. had bryan ride along with me tonight for a bit, and as always my eyes were glued to the a/f gauge. so i start on a pull (kinda pushed it to the floor quick, but didnt punch it), run it till it starts to lean out... and bryan says oh my god... guess how much boost you just hit? i was like... what... "10 psi"... Fuck... now i know why when i get into it its leaning out so badly... its been spiking! i dont think the W/G is opening because it hit 10 psi under 4k rpm and i had to let off cause it was so lean. time to fix that and see what happens. any ideas? i did watch it however, and if i ease into boost, it holds at 5 psi... untill i pass 75=80% throttle anyways. im guessing it isnt liking open loop for some reason.

Edited to add more info

We solved that problem thanks to Dino. found a hole in the vac line going to the wastegate i had not seen before. was on the turbo nip facing the block and i didnt check there untill he mentioned the vac line again in the chat. so thanks dino. new problem, i think ive got to pull the motor out and re-seal the bedplate. i saw when i got the motor the sealent on the bedplate looked kind of whiteish/yellowish. i thought mabye its because it sat on a pallet for a year it changed color (stupid thinking on my part). but yea... should be fun heh. i hope thats not it im going to crawl under there tomorrow and check it out further, but it lost a lot of oil today. and made a nice fresh spot in the driveway.

Hope you get everything right.

Look into pulse plugs. I just posted a thread about them and they look a treat for boost applications. Spark plug to pulse plug, the pulse plug looks like it burns a hell of alot hotter and brighter. I've seen dyno sheets and they do increase cylinder combustion effeciency. That might help your blinky light go farther towards the yellow range.

From a tuning standpoint, i believe any time you raise your cylinder pressures over stock, you should upgrade your ignition to suit the application. It's not a place i plan on cheaping out on.

Hope that didn't sound to preachy or anything. Everyone tunes different and i'm just throwing my two cents in.

Love the car though. You've come a long way in such a short time and it's cool watching things get done. Keep up the good work.

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....
