I am curious to everyone's opinion's on this topic.

What do you think it better for spool up?

-Short pipe off turbo w/ filter.

-Filter directly onto compressor outlet, no pipe.

-Long pipe like a cold air intake almost with filter?

-And also, standard filter element or the HKS of Greddy foam kind of ones?

I am thinking between the filter direct onto the turbo or the long pipe with filter.

Short filter seems like it would be a quick spool mainly because its building air right there, but then I think about a nice longer pipe that goes say almost into my fender well, that would create lots more airflow, but a longer pipe might create a longer spool up.

Whats your opinions or theory's, what do you think would work best?

I think recirculating the BOV might help with spool times in between shifts.

Yeah. Recirc.

As far as spooling, i dont think it will make any significant difference. Because of the turbine, air will swirl from the filter to the blades regardless. Perhaps the air will be swirling that much faster after running through a tube. Kinda like a vortex made from flushing a toilet or unplugging a drain. Based on something simple like that, i've wanted to try to make an intake on my currently N/A car that uses a large camber between the throttle body and the filter somewhere that bottlenecks from 6" to 3". I dont think it will make any difference i'd be able to really feel but i'm sure a dyno would show up something.

Pretty much what you're trying is like a hi-flo cat vs a test pipe. The gains aren't going to be all that significant but i guess every little bit counts.

Try experimenting with a bunch of different intake setups on the dyno or see what other tuners have gained from it to give you an idea of what to expect.

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....

i have a cai cause my turbo is bass akwards compared to all yours. the quick spool depends on resistance, just keep the filter clean.

got that megasquirt!
