Hello all, I am turbocharging my 420a eagle talon, painting it and then enjoying it. This is completely up to date

http://upgradecar.blogspot.com/ Entire BLog

All the Turbo Parts Coated Candy Apple Red

http://upgradecar.blogspot.com/2007/10/powder-coating-is-done.html

The first link shows where I am at. I just had the oil line supply for the turbo installed today and the oil drain line. The car is sitting at the mechanics without any of the Intercooler Tubing attached. I need to find a New place for the Rising rate FMU to live because It it right in the way of where the intercooler tubing will go. All this was not a turbo Kit, even though I am using a star FMIC and turbo manifold. I am very excited to get this going. This has been a two week long project and I think I am on the last legs of getting stuff together. I still need to install Intercooler Piping, relocate the FMU, and Put the gaskets on the Turbo manifold and tial wastegate. Any help or suggections is great. I am trying to make a great looking setup here. ! For all the haters we already have a 4g63 turbo all coated candy rasberry we just finished at dreamcasteclipse.blogspot.com

It seems, you live close to me! (im in murfreesboro, just S of nashville). So, when you get the car done what are your plans with it? (i didnt read through the whole blog yet.)

** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **

Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.

Nice pics man! Good write-up, just one question... I thought bypass valves are used in recirc not to keep vacuum to a minimum, but to keep MAF-run systems from going pig-rich and stalling. Or is that meaning the same thing and I'm a dumbass...

LMAO well its "where" the vaccum is thats important. A hose runs from the Valve cover to a nipple on a aluminum coupler. The coupler is two inches in from of the turbo. So when the turbo is spooled there is a slight vacuum in from of the turbo compressor. So thats what that "vacuum line" is for. then the BOV is a recirculating one but currently I dont have it set up like that. I will however do it as soon as the car is back from paint. It helps keep the turbo spooling by reducing the vacuum so your right, however it doesnt go away just a little less emoji

Actually as soon as it gets done with paint and I can upgrade the Fuel System and intake

270cc SRT4 injectors with new intake powdercoated.

I am hoping I can go show off the car at some DSM rallies and I will run it at the drag strip as soon as I get stuff tuned a little bit.

The original poster doesnt understand why a recirculation kit is required on MAF cars. Our cars are not MAF cars therefor do not require a recirculation kit.

YES I UNDERSTAND THAT OUR CARS USE A Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor and its not COMPLETELY NEEDED TO HAVE A RECIRUCULATION VALVE ( a BOV that recirculates air back in front of the turbo inlet) I do mine mostly to muffle the BOV sound, currently I dont have it curculating its just open air right now. I Changed air filter setup and PCV system and have not connected the HKS recirculation valve yet. it is currently open air. And yes I do understand the difference and the purpose. I also have a GST with a SSQV BOV. I should put a recirculation kit on the SSQV ( so that the metered air is recycled and maintains Air fuel ratio) but my Fiance drives it and swore me not to change it ( she likes the sound). If you looked at the links and info on my blog you would see I am dealing with two cars and niether of them ( the GST or 420aT) are recirculating right now. However my BOV on the 420a was intended for recirculation as it has a nipple to plug a hose over.
