Ok I know it's the eternal question of "how much boost can I run?" but I've been debating for quite a while. here's my boosting story I bought a Star Stage 1 kit w BOV and Boost gauge from Wyatt's group buy a while back. 5 PSI woohoo it was pretty tight when I got it installed, had some engine bay heat problems though, but it was summer, turbo runs cool all the time now that's it's winter. Anyway I upgraded to stage 1.9 (hehe I guess) thanx to a donor starion . I got an AF ratio gauge somewhere along the line and it reads o about .96 and more sometimes, because I have an airtex inline fuel pump and did the rewire fuel pump mod. Woohoo super richness, I look at my stock cat after the 3 inch system was installed and it was brown, haha isn't suppose to be white? I know 2GNT runs pretty rich to start off though. Then I got a full 3" inch exhuast system which is is great and I heard getting a larger exhuast makes your EGTs go down.
Well there ya have it, I was thinking of upping the boost to say 6 or 7 psi because I know 5 psi will probably make ne1 in the turbo community laugh at my ass. That way I would be a true stage 2 also. I mean look at the star stage 2 kit only thing different is an FMIC (which I have) and 9lb wastegate right? So is all I've done justification enough to turn up the boost, I really don't wanna blow my engine, the engine is at 90k right now and I do run it pretty hard when I race. But I can hear the T3/T04E BB turbo screaming at me to feed it more air because it can take it, the question is will the engine take it?
I'm planning to get a SAFC and EGT gauge somewhere along the line, with those I can make sure my engine is happy. So lemme know what you guyz think?

I'd get an EGT 1st to see perfectly where you stand. I put one in last(should have been first) after my A/F and Boost. I look at that more often than my boost and A/F gauges. Other than that give her a try but check to see where your EGT's before and after.

I 2nd erik's thoughts.. get an EGT, see what your temps are, if their good, upgrade the wastegate, and up the boost to 7 psi. That should be safe as long as your still running plenty rich and your egt's are within a resonable level. I'd add the SAFC so you can tune and monitor your fuel curve better... They key is having enough fuel, and always premium fuel or mix a little race gas with it to up the octane a little, higher the octane = smoother the burn = happier internals
I'd say, with that airtex pump, you're good to 8PSi, but no more, and keep a damn good eye on everything. I blew at 9, and i'm still not sure exactly why (Realized earlier this week my TPS is hosed, which could have been hosed for a while, which could cause a lean condition, etc..)
