In my opinion the rs has a louder sound, but it depends on what type of sound you want. I had a rs on my car and at 10 psi it made a decently loud noise when I put a full load on it and then let off. Personally though I like the type s better.

I have the Type RS. I love the way it sounds, and i am only running 8psi. Just make sure you do not have it to tight, or loose.

If you want a loud sound, get the Turbo XS RFL or a Blitz Dual Drive.

RFL is the loudest by far, but the RS is a real nice clean woosh. Thats what I use, the Greddy RS and I love it.

How much boost are you going to run?

I am getting rid of my TurboXS RFL bov in the BST section if you decide on wanting one of those.

My RFL has held about 14 psi, and it wasn't leaking a bit. Turbo XS puts washers in their BOV kits, to stiffen up the spring if it is leaking. I have never used a single wqasher, and ran at 14psi with no leakin at all.

We threw my RFL on my cousin's EVO for fun and it leaked a little bit around 20 psi no washers. I bet if we put in 1 or 2 it would have been fine. It was DAMN loud though. We scared people everywhere with it.

They are better for higher PSI IMO. Like 10 and up. I used my cousin's for a week to see how I liked it and could not get it to not "gobble" like a turkey no matter how much I adjusted it (bolt loosened/tightened and springs taken out, etc.).

then his is messed up because if you remove the smaller/weaker spring, and adjust it tighter, one it still doesnt leak, and two it is just as loud as the RFL.

yes, if your sticking with under 10psi, greddy recommends to take out the stiffer/shorter spring and adjust it.

I removed the smaller of the springs and it still gobbled. I gave up trying to adjust it.

And the RS is not as loud as the RFL, not even close.

Mine is extremely loud. Last year at 15psi it was just as loud as an STi that runs around my neighborhood with a RFL.

My cousin ran the RS vented at 19 psi on his EVO and the RFL vented on the EVO and the RFL is WAAAAAY louder. Not even exaggerating a bit. The RFL at about 10 psi would be the same loudness as the RS at 19 I would say.

No, you adjust it so it opens all the way when you let off and doesn't leak under boost. Some say if you adjust it tighter it "gets louder", but it might have a hard time opening at lower boost levels if it's too tight.

so let me get this straight. the greddy type rs can be as loud or louder than the rfl and the rs is way louder than the type s if the type rs is adjusted?

No.

The RFL is probably THEE LOUDEST bov you can buy on the market. RFL=REAL FUCKING LOUD

I would say the RS and the Type-S are roughly the same volume. They are NOT as loud as the RFL.
