What number should I have on the ignition advance with the turbo pushin out 15-22psi? My friend has an srt-4 and i've read up stuff on his car while i was tuning it and everyone seemed to be bragging 28 to low to mid 30's. Is that good for all applications or does it vary by motor?

You can't advance timing without running a standalone anyway.

Your car is not an SRT4.

He could be runnin MSnS (I might be talkin out of my ass though), which case yeah you're still not runnin sn srt-4 - different setup altogether when it comes to the turning aspect.

The only way to adjust your timing is with a stand-alone of some sort. And the best way is with a loading, or braking dyno that has a realtime torque readout. You need to hold the engine at a constant speed and constant load and slowly advance the ignition timing until you achieve maximum torque output but stay below the knock threshold. If you have room to advance the timing but torque drops off then you need to retard it a few degrees until its up again. This is the proper way to tune ignition timing, each motor is different in design so each motor needs a different tune. Don't think you can set it and go because it will either cost you power or money in your motor.
