#101384, "Gas mileage MPG comparison on megasquirt ms VS. Portfueler"
I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong location.
I know the differences. I'm looking for people who have experience with either to post gas mileage comparisons.
I'm trying to decide which route to go with. Main reason for me leaning towards purchasing portfueler is stock injectors being controlled by stock ECU. Although I may be wrong on my assumption of gas mileage being better with Portfueler

It could go both ways IMO. You mentioned the Portfueler and how it uses the stock injectors and stock ECU to control off-boost driving. With the MS, you will have to tune everything to get good gas mileage. If you work at the tune enough though, I bet you could get better with the MS compared to stock. Depends how much effort you want to put into it I guess.

Stock I got about 24 Mpg's on average with a full 2.5" exhaust, short ram intake, and an apexi safc II. With MSnS and 48 lb/Hr injectors and 8 lbs boost I got closer to 30 Mpg's. Of course this is an average of the entire tank, with a combination of city and highway driving. most of it was city. But then I also spent a good amount of time tuning my car for milaeage when not in boost with leaner af/r's and careful control of the timing around my typical cruzing speeds. It's all going to depend on how much effort you want to put into the quality of your tune.

On the highway with my MSnS and 72lb injectors, I was seeing ~31MPG. Note this is all highway and over the course of an entire tank, and my motor is a cammed 2.4L
