ok, i have a Hahn IC, but when i got (used) they had painted it or coated it ReD. the red dosent go with my theme and i was wondering if i can just paint it with hi temp paint? i tried paint remover on it, it still wont come off, so i think this is my last option.

Rustoleum, paint doesn't affect thermal efficiency enough to make a difference. I'd go for black to get the sleeper effect

If you want to get everything you can out of your intercooler, you won't have two layers of paint on it. Try some aircraft paint stripper. It works exceptionally well on painted aluminum.

yeah, I think the best bet if you wanted it done would be one very light coat of paint or anodizing it. Paint takes away from the efficiency.

Spearco did a test and proved that there wasn't any measurable difference painted or non. heck they even used to sell "sleeper series" FMIC's that were painted black

Hi I have a not so great looking used intercooler, I have every intention Of purchasing a new one in the near future (2 weeks or so) I think I want the have it powdercoated candy red except for ofcourse the strips where the air passes through the aluminum fins. Is powdercoating ok on aluminum intercooler. Thats really a simple question though but I would like to ask corbin if he knew the best place to tap oil for the feedline on the turbo, I was thinking the oil bypass plug but I am unshure, could I get some help here?

If its done properly then it probably wont make a difference for most, but if you cake it up it looses the ability to cool as well, it also varies on what efficiency range you are in, or how close you are to heatsoak with the intercooler.

Use this product...its a radiator paint.

Standard engine paints are too thick for radiator use because they can interfere with heat transfer and block air flow between the cooling fins.
