#10103, "turbo leaking???"

no i dont have a turbo on my eclipse but my girlfriend does on her golf. and i know this isnt a vw site but you guys know your stuff. when the car gets on the boost there is a definite turbo noise. at first i thought it was normal (never driven a turbo, so i didnt know) but after thinking about it, it doesnt sound right. the car also smells like its running rich, and had trouble idleing at one piont. power seems bad also. the turbo makes a air whoosh almost like paper in a very windy place. when you get off the gas boost comes out the bov (aftermarket), so some is getting that far. my best guess is that the boost is leaking around a coupling or there is a hole in the intercooler. whats it sound like to you guys. thanks for your time.
