Well, just installed new piston rings b/c i was getting oil into my #4 cylinder and on my spark plug. I started the car and it is still smoking white smoke bad at idle and more when revving it up a little. I pulled my manifold off and there is alot of fresh oil on the back of my valves. The whole exhaust port was wet with oil and i put my finger in the port and my finger was covered with oil. Could the valve guides or stem seals be bad. I thought it was rings since it smoked, but i put new ones in and it still does the same so i am leaning towards something else. Any suggestions, whenever i put a new spark plug in it, it fouls it out real quick b/c of the oil on top of the piston. Am i stupid and cant figure it out, i need to get this car running, it is too damn hot to be playing with motor. Thanks

Possibly a cracked or broken valve guide?

I was thinking that, do you have a spare head anywhere. I guess i will just buy a head, i dont have time to install new guides and i dont know how to. I checked my compression and it was 185 across so i was like what the hell could it be.

You cant install guides yourself anyway. Just pull the head, bring it to a machine shop, it will take them one day to do all the guides.

When I had bronze guides put in my 2.0L head, it was like $125 bucks.

I have the oil line kit from hahn racecraft so it should be good enough. I am going to buy another head whenever i get over being pissed, since i am tired of messing with my car. Thanks for the replies.

What kind of rings did you have?

I had Total Seal rings and they managered to tapper off my cylinders at the bottom causing oil to shoot out of my exhaust. I thought blown HG for sure. Opened it up and tada!
