I beet a kid with enough whitnesses in

both our cars. He was behind an old

mustang with a bad ass exhaust. I ran

about 7 lbs on stock rs rims and tires

and he was just going for the cherry

stock look with a little flashiness in

the back axel. Anyways, He probably ran

a high 14 or a low 15. in the 1320 but

our race lasted half of that with a

rolling start. Never forget that night.

All of em eccept the LT1/LS1 Camaros/Firebirds/Corvettes. Newer 260hp Mustangs are about a draw. Previous 215hp 4.6L Mustangs/5.0L Mustangs/L98 Corvettes/Lincoln Mark VIII/Monte Carlo/Lexus SC400 V8s are easy work. I find any V8 can take off as fast or faster but I can walk on just about anything I've ever raced especially when 3rd comes around, thats usually when I wave bye bye for good.

rsXboy99 is not lucky, his car is fully built and he is running high boost levels. I as well plan to be putting a whipping on my friends 2000 SS once I start pushing 15psi emoji !

Ive never been to the track on high boost..and when I went to the dyno it was on 6psi. But I do have the Hahn stage V fuel system, and I was on 22psi(or whatever 1.6bar comes out to) when I raced those cars.

are you serious? high 12's low 13's. i dont believe it...it couldnt have been a bad driver when i raced him..it was from like a 5mph roll and i didnt hear him miss a gear over that LOUD ass car. I was a car ahead by the top of 3rd gear (where i cross 1/4 mile line, top 3rd..just into 4th) then the top end of the car starting pulling on me. oh well..we stopped with me ahead cuz of traffic. =)

yes I've seen high 12's also if you will visit the Supraforums you will see posts etc...of similar numbers, or LS1.com (a lot of LS1 guys visit the supraforums btw) Remember not all cars come off the rollers the same...The high 12's were obvioulsy STRONG cars...but mid/low 13's is common in the new SS Camero's. Beating a 12 Sec GS-T with only a stage II kit is pretty impressive considering the power it takes to get a GS-T in the 12's. Of course I have no idea of the details of his trap speed's or slicks/street tires etc...And whooping a SS camero on the hwy by 5 cars is even more impressive. I want to see what sorta traps your car pulls. Gotta be nasty...I say instead of posting I out ran this and that everyone should go to the track and post some timeslips. All these people with nasty cars and no timeslips...I'm disapointed. Your letting your fellow 2gnter's down, you need to represent.

The other night I pulled up behind a firebird in the left hand turning lane with the stock dual exhaust so it must have been a V8. In the middle of his rear end he had a sticker that read "GOT NOS ?YOULL NEED IT". So i knew he would race. He took off kinda fast from the start. I followed pretty close. Then I threw it in second gear and took off and passed him on the right. He tried to keep up but he couldnt. Then at about 80mph I let off the gas and when he got next to me he was trying to get me to race again. I wouldnt because I already beat him. I gave him a BOV salute and then that was it and he turned off. I havent raced a firebird /camaro off a line yet. Its uaually from a roll. I havent beaten many but I have taken a few. The ones that have beaten me havent beaten me by that much though. And you have to remember I am only running about 6psi. I just can't wait till I run 10 or more.

http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/features/2000/December/200012_feature_firehawk.xml?&Manufacturer=Chevrolet&Name=Camaro&class=22&page=2

thats a firehawk, with a professional driver, pulling a 13.6 .. vettes get 13.3 stock with professional drivers :

http://www.c5rmotorsports.com/2000/2kc5rspecs.htm

and the 405hp z06 gets 12.4 :
http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/index_features.htm

.. there is no way a STOCK SS can get 12's, or even low 13s

i have a friend that has a 2001 z28 (blacksocalZ). hes driven his car stock at a high 13. i think the only difference between the SS and the z28 is a better exhaust. not sure on that, but im thinking the SS might be able to get into the low to mid 13s, high 12s? not sure bout that. ask the boys at LS1.com and they let you know. they got a pretty nice site over there. something like 20,000 members strong.

the difference is the SLP exhaust and intake and axle. same thing as the firehawk. camaro=firebird, cheap z28=formula, loaded z28=transam, ss=firehawk, i think.

.. there is no way a STOCK SS can get 12's, or even low 13s

OK then I'll do research for ya...here ya go...here's a link...http://www.ls1.com/ls1forum/Forum14/HTML/003649.html I counted 4 NEW SS's that ran 12's stock and I didn't even read the whole thread....

I believe you will see numerous low 13 sec passes STOCK, and even a few 12 sec ones STOCK...and yes you will even see some real high 13's stock...imagine that...some cars are just stronger off the lot then others and some people can just drive better then others....Some of these have free mods...And if you count some free mods as not stock your just kidding yourself, if you didn't spend any money it's stock...and even so there are still some BONE STOCK that have ran 12's or low 13's as you will see in this thread. But I guess this still isn't enough Proof? I guess I should start reading the magizines to see what people are REALLY pulling in cars today...SOME of you people crack me up. emoji

In regards to the firehawk year..im not sure what year it was..Its the new body style (not the old 80's style) and it was silver..and someone said earlier that a SS was the equivalent to a firehawk..this is not true...I dont belive Chevy makes anything besides that '97 LT4 SS or whatever it was to compete w/ the firehawk.

Another point...Yes some of the Fbodies hit low13's/high12's STOCK..its rare..but it does happen...there are so many different variables that change..which make results vary. Most of the new Fbodies run 13.7 or so..but there are some quick ones. For example, some of the 2001 cobras have hit 13.0 bone stock. Just those freaky fast cars from the factory.
