#100130, "Star Kit Turbo Questions"

It's been awhile since I've been to the forum. 1 year 9 months ago I dropped off my motor to be rebuilt. Well I got a call today it's finished. Since then I have forgotten just about everything I've learned about turbo's. I was going to spend the money to be set-up to boost 20psi but since then I don't really care anymore other than just getting my car running again.

My questions are, The Star kit didn't come with a boost controller will I need one?

I up-graded to a Greddy type RS bov (they are to set-up for cars with hi-boost) you are to remove one of 2 springs inside for low boost which one, small spring or large spring?

I know I would need one at 20psi, but now I just going to run the kit as it is. I might upgrade injectors and a sfmu later on after I break the motor in.

Your going need a SFMU and Injectors if you plan on going 20psi. I would never use an FMU passed 10psi personally.

Regarding the spring question for the BOV, remove the smaller one sitting inside the bigger one. You can use the BOV with both springs in, but I found it easier to adjust with only one spring.

no you will not need a boost controller to run the kit as is . mostly likely it will be a 6 or 8lb spring .

Yeah it took this guy that long to finish it. Since then I've lost all interest in it. I just want to get the car running again and maybe later on I will search my options on a better fuel system to boost more psi.

He was the only guy and best guy in my area that builds race car motors. He is so busy that the people who spend 50k a year come first so mine was pushed to the side. The wait was long but I dropped the motor off with all new parts everything was replaced with new. It cost me 800 to assemble it but I have around 3k in parts.
