Jan-26-09 08:49 PM by AMM

ill probably have pics up later tonight but heres the story........ a mamber on tuners wanted me to build him a new turbo manifold for his already boosted 2gn talon. i already built him an intake mnaifold so now he just waiting on the exhaust side of things. i didnt have a mock up car and he wanted it to be the same positioning as his current manifold so the DP wouldnt have to be modded so he pulled it off and jigged it up and sent me the jig to build the manifold on. well its finally all tacked up and ready to weld. hes runneing a t3 hot side with a synapse 40mm wastegate. so in a few hours i hope to have pics up for all to see. this post is on tuners and 2gnt so let me know what u think (as soon as pics are up of course)

Looks nice. I am guessing that manifold is for Amit since that is exactly pretty much how his load out, design and all.

Looks great though, excellant craftsmanship as always from you.

I like the idea of using the long radius 90*s Mike.

Curious as to what you use to make the nice cuts on the 45's, I notice you slimmed a couple of them down.

i always use the long radius ones, ive never tried anything with the small radius bends but maybe i should get some for the future to try and use. as for cutting method......... i used a sawzall, chop saw and bad saw.

That should be my next investment, a decent band saw for metal cutting.

If you ran the wastegate on the other side, it should fit with ac and ps.

Any finished pics yet sir?

If you ran the wastegate on the other side, it should fit with ac and ps. Any finished pics yet sir?

Yes it should fit but maybe a tad shorter and pointing downward a bit.

Also I noticed that the head flange has no space between ports, I think that should be added to leave a lil room for the thermal expansion of the material.

Status- Need to do break-in...

With the wastegate on the other side it wont clear a 3" downpipe. Here is a pic with my bojangles mounted to give you an idea. This new manifold should be pretty damn similar... atleast i hope lol

Well, it's definitely going to look better.

I would like a manifold that helps situate the compressor wheel on the passenger side of the manifold as opposed to the drivers side.

what would the fitment look like with a gt35r (.70 A/R)? will it fit good?? and what are the chances of getting one with divided exhaust flange??

Thanks

I wish I had blown it, believe me, I do...

I'm not too sure on a 35r.....the 3076r is a pretty tight fit as it is. I would go top mount with a 35r. I will post results on fitment as soon as it is in my hands. Mike- that looks great¡

those welds are incredibly clean. Im seriously considering this if fitment is ok w/ a 35r

I believe taclipse is running a gt3076r with the e cover on it so fitment w/ a 35r is just a matter of if the s cover on the 35r would have enough room to clear the radiator.

then thats the same size as the "standard" 35r........ so i guess it will fit it. once welded up it was actually about 1/2" further back then the 3/16" i originally said so i hope thats not going to a be a problem. what was the clearnce from the block Amid?

when I ran a stock atx radiator I had about 3/4" clearance. Once i upgraded to the visteon is when i had an issue, I dont even have a 1/4" clearance with the radiator... thanks god for solid mounts! I have about 3/4"-1" clearance from the compressor housing to the starter. If fitment is on point people shouldnt have a problem running these with stock radiators.
