Alright my driver door has been making this popping noise when you open it about 1/4 of the way so i tried tightening up that bar that doesn't let it open more than 60 degrees greasing it tightening the hinges and it isn't rubbing anything. What it looks like is happening though is that the lower door hinge where it is bolted to the body,The sheet metal its bolted to is flexing.Anyone else have this problem?I am afraid from the weight of the door and the metal bending like that its gonna give one day and really fuck something up.I can take a pic if you like but its the lower hinge. How could i go about putting a support in there?

I don't think it's your hinge. More than likly it is the sheet metal the hinge is mount to. I'm having the same problem so I order the hinges took off the fender removed the hinge and there it was cracks. And there was nothing wrong with the hinge. So I took some sheet metal from a hood and welded it to the body. then notice a third hole that has no bolt so I just drilled it out and add a third bolt. Now it was a litte defacult to get the nut and body washer in the body. But I think it help a little. Hope that helps. Have fun.

my drivers door pops too, it appears to be in the door stay, if I spray some lithium grease on the stay it quiets down a TON (about the same as the passenger side) I haven't tried taking the door off and pulling it apart to inspect the door stay assembly, but I suspect the roller ball and spring have been damaged by lack of lube.

Thanks FunRS thats the problem I'm having, did you weld it in behind the kick panel or on the outside where you can see it? I'm afraid the cracks will give way and the door ill fall off or something.I know its the sheet metal because i can see it flex when i pick up on the end of the door.
