I used to go to Earl Shieb in Newark. The owner used to give me good prices cause me and my friend would go there all the time. The owner was transferred to another Earl Shieb in the Bronx and the new owner was a dick so I never went back there again. But if the Bronx isn't too far for you definately check to see if the guy i'm talking about is there. His name is Dave and he's really cool. Their work isn't the greatest but you'll get a decent paint job for around $500 maybe less. And the good thing is that if you complain about something you don't like, they'll fix it for free if it's under warranty.

I don't have any pics of when I got the paint job done cause it was a few years ago and my car has been through hell since. But, Earl Schieb isn't the best, it's probably the equivalent of maaco. They are independently owned so each shop is different and has workers that do their own thing. Sometimes you get lucky and find one location that does decent work. Just check around and ask to look at cars that they have just finished painting. Usually most paint shops have freshly painted cars sitting around waiting to be picked up.
