Looks good. Damn those cf door panels look awesome too. I just can't justify the money they cost.

So when are we gonna see those LED tails finished?

thanx for the replies . fiberglassing the dash will come eventually then i have to fiberglass the door panels and center console lol . The 795 led tails should be finished in a couple weeks .the right and left tail is complete and powerboards complete . now as soon as i get around to assemblying the center and figure out the microcontroller board it will be finished . yes it was a ton of sanding .

Upholstery work is going to be rough when you are trying to learn how to do it yourself. I've done some chairs and a couple of couches and that was pretty rough. I'm sure a car seat would be as bad if not worse.

WTF, it's not that hard.

You just got to see how long you can live without your car.

Then you can:

1. Take your seats out.

2. Take the metal rings out.

3. Strip it of its threading.

4. Cut fabric to match size.

5. Sew in same places.

6. Voila.

A lot of peeps I know did this, and said it was easy, just time consuming. I also stripped my old seats to put on some custom covers this way, and just taking them off without hurting the plastic took hours. emoji

Now have black OEM leather though. :\

Well everything that I have done we cut to fit the foam or springs that we replaced in the seat. That's how my grandmother learned how to do it. Granted most of the stuff she was doing was tuck and roll. I'll stand corrected then until I reupholster some car seats.

yea the sewing is what i have no clue on . Both of my grandma's passed away a long time ago so i dont know anyone that sew's to teach me . Do the seats really look that bad ? They are a bit faded looking black . They were gray and i sprayed them with fabric spray . i do like the way the stock seats feel so if anything they will be reupholtered .

My best friends dad will be doing my re-upholstering some time soon, he does this for living on high end yatchs and boats. He said hell make the sides on the back rest, and bottom part taller so that it hold you tighter. I'll be sure to take pics and do a write up when it gets done, but i guess its no help if you are already taking on this yoursself. Also my mom has been a taylor/seemstress all her life, but nothing automotive related. Im sure she could cut all the pieces I need though. emoji

easiest way is to order a set of katskinz, pick your colors/material, and install them all thats left is hogrings and zippers, I used to do interior work and granted it's not difficult, you can see a difference in professional work and homegrown stuff. Crooked seams, loose spots, tight spots, etc.

you can build your seats on their online chart, and it will give you your closest dealer. They are not SUPER custom but they do offer a lot of colors and materials such as suede, leather, vinyl, etc. some exotic prints as well.

p.s. on the quilts note... seats are a lil dif i used to do interior trim and when we would try to hire home sewers that did stuff like that and couches etc. they didn't work out its a whole dif story, but not worth explaining, not saying she isn't good but it's def not the same.

don't fool yourself, and think leather is any better than vinyl they both have their ups and downs, but I just did a buddy of mines 07 Armada w/3 row seating for $550. try pricing all vinyl covers, although that was with dealer pricing, it will still knock off a couple hundred.

EDIT with katskin covers you can't tell a dif in vinyl and leather other than from the inside, and possibly touch, but visually they are identical, here is the armada.....

Before:

AFTER - NOTE ALL VINYL

if you notice all the french seams are flawless, try sewing one of those bastards, not easy, although i don't believe the eclipse uses any, just goes to show some quality in the covers, they don't skimp out on the seams and tuck them.

thanks . no actually the sub is a bit better than a w6 . it is a custom hand built Resonant engineering SX hybrid with better parts like stronger basket and some re he soft parts . it is the lowest fq playing sub iv yet to hear . It was built by vitveet on the soundomain forums .
