#98391, "So i got in a bit of a fender bender.. sorta.."

We have a really weird intersection near where i work, its a circle.. With 6 roads coming into it... and the lady in front of me (who let get in front of me she was pulling out of a A&W Root beer stand, how nice of me?) well she creeps up to the circle, and she merges on to the circle... or so I though.. So me looking at on coming traffic and inching up to make the merge.. Scrape my mirror along the side of her 2005-06ish Chevy Equinox, scraping the taillight and her rear fender for about 5 inches.

We exchanged the required info, and what not, no officers of the law where involved. She then stated how she is going to get an estimate and let me know how much it is so i can then decided whether I would like insurance to pay for it or i myself pay for it out of pocket.

Any one have any idea how much this maybe costing me?

Looks like mostly just surface damage, nothing was creased, and the taillight wasn't cracked.

I know I’m kind of rambling on in my defense oh well. Any input should put me at ease. My curiosity is killing me.

Well the vehicle you just hit...is a high dollar vehicle as far as parts/paint goes...most likely any body shop will "say" they are going to replace the fender and then paint the whole back half of the car with really expensive paint and then replace the taillight with a really expensive taillight...From what you told me i'd give a quote for about $2500-$5000...and byt he way I'm just kidding I have no clue about that kinda stuff just thought I'd try to cheer you up with a little heart pounding humor

Dustin, I bet the lady brings her car to my work's body shop. I know if I got hit by someone, I would bring it to a well known dealer body shop myself. And Rob is right, they will do a lot of painting to blend the color in, and those tail lights are about $400 from us at the Dealership.

used to work at a body shop myself, they'll probably hand her an estimate for somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1500 if it's all just paint work and a taillamp assembly, they probably won't try to polish the assembly

That figures.. ohh well, looks i'll be making an insurance claim! haha.

For those of you that would like a better understanding of the intersection.

HAHA, sweet. I mean not the fender bending, but the fact as you were explaining the circle thing, I thought to myself, hmmm something similar to Tallmadge circle up here and then I saw the map I was like HEY! this guy lives around here.

Well sorry that happened, but at least I'm glad there's another 2GNT'er in this Area besides me and Mike.

Post a picture of it bro. sorry to hear that.

Same thing happend to me and 70 ysr old clipped right frontend emoji

Damage was the hood, right fender, right fog light, right head light, and bumper cover. This lady's insurance cut me a check for $2,000
So, I cash the check and bought the parts myself. I bought a Vis Carbon fiber hood, and blue oem foglights (Pilot) brand,etc..
I pocket $500 of it...

Dude, have her insurance pay for the damage, and have them cut you a check.

Then with that check buy the parts yourself, and if you fix it fix it. This will save you alot money. emoji

Bodyshops charge out the ass for paint and labor. emoji
This bodyshop painted my bumper and fender for $500 to Oem color match.

Post your picture, of the damage.

Mine pics will be up abit later
